For this programme, halfway between refined virtuosity and post-minimalism, the Nouvel Ensemble Contemporain joins forces with Camerata Ataremac to form an exceptional string ensemble.
Mathis Saunier, a young French guitarist and composer and former pupil of Arturo Corrales, performs his own work with the full string ensemble at his side. Based on a concept album he produced in 2023, this world premiere bears the invented name Milodelia, which he describes as an imaginary flower. The programme also includes a graphic score by the young Russian composer Elena Rykova, who has recently settled in Lausanne, and the second quartet by Naomi Pinnock, an English composer who now lives in Biel and was awarded the Ernst von Siemens Composition Prize in 2022.
